This is a topic that we feel has to be covered in this handbook because facility managers, to one degree or another, have always been and will always be involved in emergencies and disasters that occur at their facilities. Some organizations have created the position of emergency manager. In such an organization, the facility manager must be involved in both the planning for and the reaction to emergencies.
