Messages on LinkedIn have become as valuable as a phone call or email in sales. There are now just as many decision makers responding to LinkedIn messages as there are to phone calls and emails. The conversions are often very similar; on some occasions LinkedIn messages can be even more effective.
The key is learning how to use them effectively.
For me, LinkedIn messaging has been a gamechanger. I went from spending all day making hundreds of cold calls to building a multi‐touch cadence resulting in a huge increase in conversions. A big part of that was down to the amount of replies and doors that would open from LinkedIn messages.
INMAIL VS MESSAGE
For those of you who aren't sure of the difference between a LinkedIn InMail and a LinkedIn message, let me clarify for you.
A LinkedIn message is a message you send to a direct connection on LinkedIn. This is someone you have connected with, who has accepted, and who is now a first‐degree connection.
A LinkedIn InMail is a message sent to someone that you are NOT connected with. You can only send these with LinkedIn Premium or LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
