CHAPTER 25THE FUTURE OF SOCIAL & DIGITAL SELLING
Over the years that I have been using LinkedIn it has changed tremendously. It is constantly changing everything from the features that it has and the way that it looks to the way the algorithm works.
Here are some of my thoughts on what I think is in store for the future of LinkedIn and social selling:
1) THE CONTINUED RISE OF VIDEO
Video is going to be the next big change in sales. At the time of writing this book very few sales teams and salespeople are leveraging video in their sales process. This will most definitely change over the coming years until it is as normal as picking up the phone.
The sales teams that are ahead of the curve at the moment are now building video pods within their office spaces. These are little areas that allow salespeople to record top‐quality video messages and video content.
2) SOCIAL ENABLEMENT TOOLS
LinkedIn has always been very protective over its data, making it difficult for external software platforms to provide additional services much like many sales enablement and engagement tools do.
I believe that this will change, and more and more software platforms, tools and CRMs will get greater access to LinkedIn, helping salespeople become more efficient and effective with using it to sell.
