It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Synopsis
Allowable values: number of seconds
Default: 300
Sets the number of seconds between checks for a crashed client. The
value of 0 causes no checks to be performed. Setting
keepalive = 3600 will turn on checks every hour. A
value of 600 (every 10 minutes) is recommended if you want more
frequent checks. See also socket
