It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Allowable values: YES, NO
Default: NO
If yes, Samba will perform some data transfers for exclusively
oplocked files using the sendfile( ) system
call, which results in significant performance improvements. This is
available if Samba has been configured with the
--with-sendfile-support option. This is an
experimental option and is new in Samba 2.2.5.
