It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Sets the TCP port number for contacting the LDAP server. Requires
that Samba be configured with the --with-ldapsam
configuration option. Experimental option added in Samba 2.2.3 and
obsolete
starting with Samba 3.0. See also ldap ssl.
