The loadMovieNum( )
function corresponds with
Flash 3’s Load Movie,
which accepted only
level numbers.
Synopsis
loadMovieNum(URL, level) loadMovieNum(URL, level, method)
Arguments
- URL
A string specifying the absolute or relative file path of the external
.swf
file to load.
- level
A non-negative integer, or an expression that yields one, indicating the document level that will host the external
.swf
file.
- method
An optional string indicating the method by which to send variables to an external script. The legal values for
method
are"GET"
and"POST"
. This parameter must be a literal, not a variable or other expression. The standalone version of the Flash Player always uses the"GET"
method regardless of themethod
specified.
Description
The loadMovieNum( )
function is nearly identical
to loadMovie( )
except that it requires the
target level
of the load operation to be
specified as a number rather than as a string. This means that
loadMovieNum( )
can load movies only into
document levels, not host clips. If the specified level doesn’t
exist, it will be created. If the specified level does exist, its
occupant is replaced by the new .swf
file. It is
valid to load a movie into _level2
even if
_level1
hasn’t been created.
