5.2. Observation network of land surface radiation
There are several radiation networks for radiation measurements such as the global energy balance archive (GEBA) (Gilgen and Ohmura, 1999; Liang et al., 2010), the baseline surface radiation network (BSRN) (Liang et al., 2010; Ohmura et al., 1998), the surface radiation budget network (SURFRAD) (Augustine et al. 2000, 2005; Liang et al., 2010), and FLUXNET (Baldocchi et al., 2001; Liang et al., 2010). The data obtained by these observation networks can be used to verify the solar radiation estimation models or the accuracy of atmospheric radiative–transfer simulation models.
