So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Foreword to the first edition
The Symposium on Quantitative Retrieval Algorithms in Remote Sensing was held in the summer of 2010 at Beijing Normal University. It was chaired by Professors Shunlin Liang and Xiaowen Li. During the Symposium, I stressed the roles of geography and remote-sensing science in the process of globalization. In the twenty-first century, world development has taken on three new characteristics: a constantly developing knowledge economy, constantly progressing globalization, and a widespread sustainable development theory.
