Challenging Assumptions
The first problem that tends to plague audio is the same problem that plagues every other part of the game: erroneous assumptions. In fact, inaccurate assumptions plague everything from what constitutes good food to what makes a good car. Assumptions are very sneaky and can easily catch a composer or even a sound designer when he or she least expects it.
We will look at some examples of inaccurate assumptions from the perspective of the audio content creator and the producer or project lead.
