THE VAST MAJORITY of photographers would agree that the most tedious piece of equipment they lug about on a daily basis is a tripod. They are, by nature, cumbersome; the legs seem to snag on every passing branch, and most can be slow to set up correctly. In the time taken to erect one, attach your camera and remote release, the moment has usually passed; the light has gone, or the insect is now in the next meadow! We have all been there, myself included!
