MACRO PHOTOGRAPHERS has perhaps more do-it-yourself equipment enthusiasts than any other photographic discipline. Most of the accessories currently offered by camera and independent manufacturers are often too generalised. A few companies such as Nikon and Olympus had a more comprehensive range of macro equipment in the pre-digital era but many of these accessories were never updated. Most macro aficionados (myself included) found it necessary to modify, or fabricate something that was more specific to our needs.
