Evaluating the Results

If you’re working with predefined groups of cards (a closed card sort), evaluating the results is simple. Count how often each card got sorted into each group, and you’ll get a pretty good idea of where most people would expect to find the thing that the card represents.

If you’re working with user-defined groups of cards, on the other hand, start by defining the groups. Sometimes different people use different words to describe the same group.
