Running the Test

At this point, let’s assume you have found a tester and have prepared everything you need for the test. So, let’s jump ahead to the actual test. The first thing you’ll do is to introduce the tester to the test. Similar to the paper prototype test (back in Chapter 14, Paper Prototype Testing ), you give a short introduction to usability testing.

Here’s an example of what you might say:

Hi, I’m Lukas. I work for BizTwit Inc. as a software designer. Today, we are testing a new version of our Twitter client BizTwit to see whether it works the way we intended. I want to make it very clear that we are testing the product, not you. This new product has never been used outside of our team here, so we are hoping to find problems by ...
