Figure 10.5 shows a generic star schema. The fact_table is where the aggregated data is kept. This
table where all the data is stored is referred to fact table. The fact1_table and fact2_table store infor-
mation about the attributes fact1 and fact2, respectively. These tables are referred to as dimension
tables. The fact table is the largest where all the data is, and the dimension tables are much smaller.
The snow akes schema is a generalization of star schema where the dimension tables may also
have dimension tables.
