A. In procedural programming languages such as FORTRAN and COBOL, programs are divided into a number

of segments known as subprograms. Thus it focuses on functions apart from data. Figure 8.5 describes a pro-

gram of procedural type. It shows different subprograms having access to the same global data. Here also, the

data is not fully protected.
