In C++, it is possible to restrict access to data members directly by objects which is not possible in C. It is always a
programmer’s choice to allow or disallow direct access to data members. The mechanism of restricting access to data
outside the class is called as data hiding or encapsulation. In such a case, only the member functions can access the
data. If class is used in place of struct, it restricts the access to data members as shown in Figure 16.2.
