2.10 TYPES OF OPTICAL DISKS

Optical disks come in several varieties, which are made in somewhat different ways for different purposes.

Compact Disk (CD), Digital Versatile Disk (DVD), and Blu-ray Disk (BD) are the three forms of optical

disks. Note that these technologies are not compatible with one another. Each requires a different type of disk
