So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Finding Models with Photo Textures
If you're interested in seeing some other models that use photo textures, just head over to Google's 3D Warehouse http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/. Browse through the collections where you'll find buildings, cities, furniture, people, and cars. Check out some of the "Cities in Development" in the 3D Building Collections. Inside you'll find many examples of simple models that use photo textures to give the appearance of detail. You can download models and examine them in SketchUp (Figure 10-26). You can see more details on using the 3D Warehouse on Finding Components in the 3D Warehouse.
