When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Maven installation through the Homebrew package manager
First make sure that Java is installed by running the following command in the Mac Terminal application:
java -versionjava version "1.8.0_162"Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_162-b12)Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.162-b12, mixed mode)
You will need to have Java 1.7 or higher installed on your system.
Next, if you have the Homebrew package manager installed (https://brew.sh/), then you can easily install Maven by issuing the following command in your Mac Terminal application:
brew install maven
Make sure that you set the following environment variable in your .bashrc, or .zshrc file:
export JAVA_HOME=`/usr/libexec/java_home -v 1.8`
