When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Too many communication channels
There should be a low signal-to-noise ratio when it comes to communication. If a developer is being alerted by email, SMS, voicemail, and Slack messaging about issues, they may soon tune out and not pay attention to issues. It is important to get the attention of the developer to fix issues as they are encountered, but you probably shouldn't be alerted like a military command center, where you are bombarded with notifications from many different sources.
Imagine that Bruce is a newer developer in the team and Bruce receives an alert about a low-priority ticket that he worked on. Bruce receives an email, text alert, Slack message, and phone call about this ticket. Bruce tends to get a lot of messages like this ...
