The major difference between traditional systems and IoT systems in the context of authentication is that, in the case of IoT, for the majority of the cases the authentication is for devices with no human interaction (machine to machine) and possibly for a single device with multiple users. How do we implement advanced measures, such as two-factor authentication, digital certificates, and biometrics? In such cases, these will be key in providing the required level of authentication.
