Summary

Exchange Web Services allows you to access your own mailbox as well as any other mailbox to which you have rights. When accessing your own mailbox, there is no need for additional mailbox identifiers because Exchange Web Services is able to determine which mailbox to access based on the authenticated user’s identity. When accessing another mailbox as a delegate, you must specify the primary SMTP address of the mailbox in the Mailbox subelement of DistinguishedFolderId. Normal FolderIds and ItemIds uniquely identify folders and items, respectively, and are tied to a given mailbox so that a Mailbox subelement is not needed. whereas they are required for UpdateItem and SendItem operations.
