7.7 SWITCHBOARD AND SWITCHGEAR
The switchboard (SWBD) or switchgear (SWGR) is a general term that includes the
assembly of circuit breakers, disconnect switches, fuses, relays, meters, instruments,
controllers, and other equipment associated with the generation and distribution of
electrical power. Examples of switchboard are the generator power panels, motor
control center, or any other central power distribution center. One such switchboard’s
