コンテキスト
なぜ決定する必要があるのか。前提、制約、および決定要因。
評価基準
この決定をするうえで重要なことは何か？ どのアーキテクチャ特性がこの決定に適用されるのか？ 基準とすべき制約や決定要因は？
選択肢
評価基準に照らして考慮された選択肢の概要（通常はスコアやレーティングを用いる）、および評価基準外のトレードオフ。テンプレートについては、次節の「ADRの選択肢」を参照。
決定
行われた選択とその理由。
影響
決定によるポジティブな影響とネガティブな影響。
協議
他の人の意見を聞く場合に記録。協議に先だって行われるが、長くなったり決定自体が不明瞭になったりする可能性があるため、最後に記録される。
