Warfare is mankind’s most serious endeavour. Tremendous efforts and forces are deployed in the struggle for victory or survival. But superior forces do not guarantee success. There has always been scope for agility and clever tactics to outmanoeuvre an enemy – remember David and Goliath. Here are some notable examples of lateral thinking in warfare.
