Lateral thinking puzzles are a form of mental exercise game. They are strange situations often drawn from real life. You are given a limited amount of information and have to find out what is going on. Each has a perfectly good explanation – you have to find it. The puzzles are not designed to be solved by the individual reading them. They work best when played as a game in a pair or a group. One person knows the solution and others ask closed questions, to which they receive the answers, ‘yes’, ‘no’ or ‘irrelevant’.
