It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Assessing the Existing Infrastructure
Few organizations that will deploy Hyper-V will have so-called green-field sites where there is no existing infrastructure. Most will have existing servers that consume power and space. Some may have expiring or expired support contracts. These are the sorts of machines that the planners of a virtualization project would hope to convert to be virtual machines on the new infrastructure. Will the existing physical servers be suitable for virtualization? How will this impact the specification of the virtual host and storage hardware?
