I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Using MAP
The Microsoft Assessment and Planning (MAP) Toolkit is free to download and use and can be used in many kinds of deployment projects. One of these is Hyper-V deployments where it will enable you to assess your Windows physical servers and VMware virtual machine network over a period of time and then produce a set of reports. This agent-less solution will discover your servers over the network. It will gather performance data and report the requirements of each candidate for virtualization conversion. It can even give you an indication of how many Hyper-V machines will be required to host the assessed servers if they were converted to virtual machines. It should be noted that it does not account for redundant nodes in a Hyper-V cluster. ...
