Deploying Hyper-V
Let the fun begin! All the preparation work in the project has been completed. You have purchased your servers and storage. They are racked, powered, and waiting for you to get Hyper-V up and running.
We will start this chapter by looking at the installation of the parent partition, also known as the host operating system. This is your software prerequisite for enabling the Hyper-V role on Windows Server 2008 R2. You might manually install Windows, the patches, and Hyper-V in a small, one-off deployment. Larger organizations or those who expect constant growth might want to look at automated solutions, which will allow an unattended installation of Windows Server 2008 R2 and include the patches and the Hyper-V role. ...
