Some design decisions

Enterprise scenarios usually require a high availability level; greater than 99.99% for most workloads. Using just vSphere HA features is not enough, not for all workloads. For workloads that require a level better than 99.99%, you have to consider vSphere FT or guest clustering (building a clustered solution across VMs). Or, just design your application to provide a better resiliency and a high availability level.

Performance and scaling are also crucial, and the design needs a good initial assessment and has to consider future growth.
