I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Restoring the vCSA from a file-based backup
To restore a failed vCSA from a file-based backup, you can use the vCSA GUI installer that will complete the process in the following two stages:
- Deploy a new vCSA
- Copy data from the file-based backup to the appliance
The file-based restore can be performed only if the backup has been previously taken from the vCenter Server Appliance Management Interface. Alternatively, you can deploy a new vCSA and restore the data from the file-based backup using the vCenter Server Appliance Management Interface.
To restore a VCHA, all nodes (active, passive, and witness) must be powered off. The vCSA is restored in non vCenter Server High Availability (VCHA) mode and the cluster must be reconstructed once ...
