I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
VMware vSphere Health Check
VMware vSphere Health Check is a tool only for VMware's partners (or VMware PSOs), but it can collect some data from a virtual environment, analyze the configuration, and provide a Word document with a lot of usable information structure in the following areas:
- Major findings and recommendations
- Organizational
- Operational
- Technical
- Health check assessment and recommendations
- Compute
- Network
- Storage
- Data center
- VM
- Security
- Virtual SAN
The technical recommendations section is the most interesting because it tries to check the existing configuration according to with VMware best practices and classify all the non-compliance at different priority levels, shown as follows:
