I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Resetting the SSO password
There are some situations where you need to reset the SSO password to recover access to the PSC due to a forgotten password.
Follow this procedure to reset the SSO password:
- SSH the PSC or vCenter Server with embedded PSC appliance as root user and enable the shell with the command shell.set --enabled true, then type shell. Press Enter.
- Run the command /usr/lib/vmware-vmdir/bin/vdcadmintool to load the console to also manage the password reset.
- Select the option 3. Reset account password and, when prompted, enter the account UPN (for example, administrator@vsphere.local):
