It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Backup host configuration
Every administrator knows how important a backup is, to ensure data protection and BC. ESXi host is not an exception. The server where the ESXi is installed may fail and the re-installation and configuration of the settings can be time-consuming, with the result that the host is out of service for a certain period of time. Since the installation of the ESXi only takes a few minutes, you can perform a fresh installation of the server. What really takes a long time is the host's configuration.
The option of backing up the host's configuration allows you to quickly restore the host functionality, reducing the service outage. The backup can be taken by accessing the ESXi console and following these steps:
