When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Hot-extend for jumbo VMDK
In ESXi 5.5 and 6.0, it was possible to have a single VMDK greater than 2 TB, as described in KB 2058287—Support for virtual machine disks larger than 2 TB in VMware ESXi 5.5.x and 6.0.x at https://kb.vmware.com/kb/2058287. But virtual disks of powered-on VMs could be extended only if the final size was below 2 TB (and if the virtual disks were connected to a virtual SCSI controller). If the size of a VMDK was larger than 2 TB, or the expand operation caused it to exceed 2 TB, the hot-extend operation wasn't possible at all. Of course, it was possible to perform it when the VM was powered off.
This behavior has been changed in vSphere 6.5 and now hot-extend no longer has this limitation. It is important to note that ...
