It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Network Functions Virtualization (NVF)
Now that you are ready with the NSX basic configuration, you can start to configure the different network components, such as switch, router, firewall, gateway, and so on.
One network component is the logical switch or distributed switching. Each logical switch has a unique identification called VNI, starting from 5,000 (the same pool that you have set for the Segment ID). Logical switches are located on the transport zone and you can create or view the entire list in the Logical Switches menu:
