So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Online communities are about human interaction and relationships. Most community websites share certain features that make it easy and satisfying for people to meet and communicate with each other on the Internet.

Members of a community website need something to do there, whether it be discussing a specific topic such as travel or pets, publishing recipes, or playing an online game with other users. Otherwise, they have no reason to spend time on the website. In addition, their participation in the activity has to be visible to other members of the site, so that the members have a way to get to know each other.
