The solution-focused GROW framework is explored in Chapter 21, which underlies most coaching and coaching models.
The ‘W’ in GROW represents action and is so named because it describes not just what is to be done, but the will to commit to an action. There is a danger that on being asked what to do, coachees will come up with a list of what they think ‘should’ be done, without taking into account whether they will find the time and motivation to carry the named actions out. Ways of exploring this commitment are described below.
