We sometimes limit ourselves by our own lack of belief, often without even being aware of it. The limits arise from our past, through experience, failure, baggage and being told that we are not good enough to achieve something. These beliefs are often expressed using fixed words like ‘can’t, ‘should’, ‘never’, ‘always’. These words have the effect of predicting and creating the future: as we speak so it will be.
Limiting beliefs are often formed early in life, when we hear judgemental comments such as:
‘You’re hopeless at sport.’
