Although our main focus in this book is, of course, on the practical side of things, it’s still interesting to know the properties of the networks we use. We’ve therefore compiled some general statements that are also mathematically proven (in the language of mathematicians: some theorems).

B.4.1 Perceptron Convergence Theorem

The convergence theorem by Frank Rosenblatt from 1959 (see Section B.7) states that for every linearly separable data record, the perceptron learning rule is guaranteed to find a solution in a finite number of steps.
