C.3 Integrated Keras Library
We’ve already presented some libraries in Chapter 2, including the wonderful Keras library by Francois Chollet. This library was developed to better abstract the various neural network backends such as Theano, Microsoft Cognitive Toolkit, MXNet, and of course TensorFlow, and to simplify their use considerably. These backends actually do the necessary hard computing work, and Keras provides simplified and standardized access to the functionalities. Keras as a library still exists, of course, but Google has taken over not only Keras but also Francois Chollet—so it’s a sustainable strategy to use TensorFlow 2 with the even more tightly and better integrated Keras.
