Writing a book is hard. Of course, the usual things like syntax and prose, subject mastery, and the ability to distill complex subjects down to small, digestible nuggets are difficult, but I don’t think that’s the hardest part of writing.

The real difficulty is the race between when you finish writing and when your inspiration tank runs dry. At the start of a book project, adrenaline, endorphins, and excitement about the topic keep you fueled. Then, the more you write, the more inspiration you burn. Eventually, as you create text, code samples, and diagrams, you need a way to refuel.
