Reading Your Writes
In monolithic applications, it’s easy to take for granted that we can read the data we’ve written. When everything is in a single process, reading a projection created by the flow of events through aggregates is easy—just read the data.
But when applications are running at large scales, we can’t rely on the level of consistency offered by a monolith. Assume you’ve written your application as a monolith, and now you’re scaling the application out to multiple geographic regions. Your projection database is now replicated from a single replica leader (often unfortunately called the “master”).
