So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Notifying External Consumers
Notifying external consumers is also pretty easy. To create a notifier, you create something that’s listening on some portion of the event stream for relevant events. The notifier then does whatever data massaging is necessary (which can include querying from projections) and then emits some stimuli out into the real world.
One of the most common examples of this is a notifier listening for events indicating business process failure. When it encounters those, it can send messages to a Slack channel, email an operations mailbox, or interact with an application’s API.
