Wrapping Up
Once your event stream goes from in-memory and ephemeral to a real, durable, replayable stream, then a whole bunch of code and patterns escape the “hello world” bubble. In this chapter, you went through the process of seeing what is involved in making it real from evaluating and comparing event and projection stores and capacity planning to upgrading the code for Lunar Frontiers to use a Postgres event log and Redis projections.
In the next chapter, you’ll apply everything you’ve learned so far to the notion of evolutionary architectures and explore how event-sourced systems can safely change over time.
