It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Wrapping Up
This chapter was important because it provided your first taste of trying to merge the purely functional world of event processing with the totally unpredictable real world using injectors and notifiers as event-sourced I/O. You applied that knowledge to building a real-time flight tracking system based on input from live data feeds. In addition to the fun of the sample, you learned foundational patterns and started to develop an instinct for when to inject and notify, so that when it comes time to build a large application, you’ll be ready.
From an Elixir standpoint, you also played with GenStage as a technique for having multiple downstream consumers for a single producer.
