Some cameras with fixed-back LCDs can emulate swivel functionality via a setting
that changes the angle of view for the screen. is allows you to hold the camera
over your head and still see what’s on the LCD monitor. Panasonic calls this capabil-
ity High-Angle View mode. Other models, such as the Canon G9, have improved the
LCD technology so that you can see the image from a greater angle, without having
to make any changes to the settings.
Memory Cards
Memory cards store the picture data captured by your camera. Nearly every digital
camera contains some type of removable memory. When the camera takes a picture
and creates the data for that image, it “writes” that information on the memory card.
is lets you retrieve or transfer your electronic pictures long after they’ve been re-
