It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Don’t forget to take pictures of signs and placards. It’s a lot easier than taking notes
about locations, and the information comes in very handy when recounting your trav-
el experiences. Signs can also be a source of humor for your presentation—you never
know what some people are going to post in public!
Signs can be beautiful as well as informative.
Take Pictures at Weddings
Weddings are portrait heaven. Your subjects look sharp, are happy, and are in pretty set-
tings. All you have to do is have your camera ready for the opportunities as they present
themselves. Here are a few tips for great wedding shots:
Rule one is to not interfere with the hired photographer’s shots If you want to
follow in their wake for special posed portraits, simply ask permission to shoot a cou-
ple of frames after they finish. Most pros will accommodate these polite requests.
Now turn on your flash and leave it on, indoors or out See Flash Modes in Chap-
ter 2 for an overview of your options and how to use them.
When you’re taking group shots, remember to position your subjects as close
together as possible Generally speaking, people stand too far apart. Tightening up
the spacing will make for better shots.
