It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

So, consider all of the different ways you want to use your images, and then choose the
format, or formats, which best suit your needs.
Recover Photos from an Erased Memory Card
Sooner or later it happens to just about everyone: you erase your memory card of pho-
tos you haven’t uploaded yet. What a terrible feeling in the pit of your stomach when
you discover this.
Fortunately, software is available that allows you to recover photos from a memory card
that has been erased or formatted. Products such as Image Rescue by Lexar Media (http://
www.lexar.com) can help you retrieve those erased pictures and upload them to your
computer. (Some card manufacturers even include the software with the memory card.)
Image Rescue can work its magic because often, even though you’ve erased your memory
card, the pictures are still on it. All erasing does is hide those photos from view and make them
available for overwriting by new images as they are added to the card from the camera.
at’s why the first rule of photo recovery is to stop shooting from the moment you
discover that you may have erased photos you haven’t uploaded yet. You want to get
those latent photos before your camera overwrites them with new pictures.
